These units standards consist of 1 legal and 1 handle and use unit standard competency training with the varying applicable firearm.
In order to apply for a SAPS competency and License to own a firearm, you must complete the training for Legal (Knowledge of the firearms control Act) and Basic Unit Standard (Handle and Use of a “Firearm”) in the specific firearm you would like to own and license.
